Highlights & Lowlights Hair Salon Barrie - Brittney Helene Hair

Balayage

One of my favorite hairstyle techniques is to achieve a soft & natural sun-kissed hair with some or a combination of backcombing, foils, freehand painting, and toning to blend! Designed for a low-maintenance look!

Highlights & Lowlights at Hair Salon Barrie

Highlights & Lowlights

The highlighting salon service provides an overall brightened-up look where we use a traditional foiling technique. Lowlighting provides a toned down look. For a multi-tonal effect, we would combine both highlights & lowlights to create dimension.

Pre-consults are required for all new colour/blonding guests
– a 50$ deposit applies when booking upon that day

All new clients must leave a 50$ deposit to reserve your first hair coloring service. Following that booking, there will be no deposit needed. This deposit reserves your spot with the stylist and is used towards the appointment bill. It is fully refundable as long as 48 hours of notice is given for any cancellations.

In a hair consultation, the stylist and client have the opportunity to discuss the ideas and final result the client is looking for. The hair will be analyzed (health of the hair, density and thickness, previous color, porosity, and other elements needed to properly book the appointment). The stylist may also give any recommendations needed.

Brittney Helene hair is by appointment only.

The best way is to have the hair dry and clean!

Recommendation: wash the day before

Although we use 2 towels and a cape to prevent color spill, It is recommended NOT to wear white, anything with a collar, anything formal, or a top that is important to you and you don’t want potential color on.

We recognize that not all “unexpected” emergencies that warrant cancellations come with pre-warnings; however, we ask, that at a minimum, you provide us with at least 24 hrs notice if you are unable to make your appointment. And, at that time, we’d be more than happy to reschedule your appointment for the next available date that works for you.

Yes you can pay with all types of payment (even AMEX)

Note: We don’t always have the change when using cash.

We strive to produce top quality service and aim for your hair goals, but at times the outcome may not be what the stylist or client expects. If the stylist is dissatisfied with the result of the service, they will openly let the client know that they want them to return for an adjustment.

The same goes for the client, if there is something that does not feel right, the stylist will gladly get you back in asap for an adjustment so that both parties are happy with the result!

It is okay to wash your hair before your appointment as long as it is FULLY DRY upon arrival. The recommendation is to wash your hair the day before.

Hair shampooing is recommended every 2-3 days. Washing daily can lead to the hair drying out, and the scalp overproducing oils, therefore, making the hair oily. Many times clients feel that because their hair becomes so oily they have to wash it the next day however, it could be due to daily washing since our scalp has hair follicles and when frequently washed the hair follicles are being stripped and goes into overdrive & creates more oiliness. What is recommended is to train your hair.

The best way to train your hair is first, to use a very good clarifying shampoo and shampooing twice, then condition. Secondly, using dry shampoo on days one and two will also help avoid the oils being noticeable for you to be able to push off your next wash as much as possible. Over time and the more you train your hair, the better the outcome, and the fewer oils will be produced.

100%. Drugstore and generic shampoo brands are filled with fillers, and water and often are not ph balanced to the human scalp which can be the cause of dry, oily, itchy, build up, and not properly cleaned scalp. We always recommend professional grade, ph balanced gently hair cleansers.

How often you should deep condition depends on the condition of your hair, the more damaged and dry the hair is, the more you should deep condition.

Relatively healthy hair- once weekly (used in replacement of conditioner)

Hair that is damaged- twice weekly (used in replacement of conditioner)

– Regular trims (every 6 to 10 weeks)

– Using professional-grade hair products

– Be extra mindful to be using a moisturizing leave-in conditioner, oil, and deep conditioning masks on lightened hair or hair that is often colored.

Absolutely! Both hard water especially can affect how the hair feels and even looks! Depending on where you live the severity may differ & can cause the hair to discolor, appear dull, or leave a deposit on the hair. To help avoid this, be sure to use a clarifying shampoo.
